Moving mailbox to different domino server (same Domino Domain)

Hi

I have installed a new domino server into an existing domino domain.

When I move users to the new server (from the People & Groups - people - highlight user - move to another server).

Adminp takes care of the process, it replicates a copy of the mailbox to the new server and updates the Person record with the new server name.

However, on every mailbox move I see the following in admin process logs / Administrative Attention Required.

The Access Control List of a local replica of user/xxxx's mail file prevents replication with their new mail server (GBxxx/xxx).

However, from the client perspective everything is fine - they are pointing to the new server and not missing any emails.

Can I continue to remove the entry and not deal with it.

Thanks

Just a question

If you check the ACL on the user's local replica - does it show the new server as the Admin server?

I see the same error here on the 'Push Changes to New Mail Server' document - when the Administration server is upgraded. I'm wondering if it's an 'initial' message, but once the user replicates their mail file the issue is resolved.

Can you check the times for the message posted to AdminP database, and check the ACL log on the mail file and compare when the change was made?

Hi Mark

Thanks for the reply.

I have checked the local replica ACL and confirm the ACL has been updated with the new server name with Manager access and also under Advanced, the Administration Server has been updated to the new server name.  Also observed there was as a tick in the box 'enforce a consistent access control list across all replicas'.  The update was performed at 12.46pm.

When I check adminp (All requests by name) I can see at also 12.46pm 'Push changes to new mail server' was actioned for that user.

Replication

Are the users inquestion using managed replicas on their local workstations?  thant may be the casue of the error.

What version of Domino?

It sounds, then, like it 's a 'bogus' error - or at least shouldn't be in the 'Administrative Attention Required' view.

What version of Domino are you running? I seem to recall seeing a message lingering around in the 'Administrative Attention Required' view that I no longer see at 9.0.1FP3, but I can't be sure that is exactly the error being discussed.

Another thing that I ran into one time was somehow the AdminP database was changed to a previous level design, . You might refresh/replace if it's not 9.0.1 (8/01/2013)

BTW, we're running managed replicas, and it's working OK here.

Thank you both.

When I saw the message it was always for users who worked on a local replica of there mailfile.

I found I could remove the message and the move mailbox went through with no problems.
